Durham, NC, August 18, 2022 –(PR.com)– A new report from PT might be of interest to IT admins managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for remote workers. In three phases of hands-on testing, the performance and ease-of-use VMware Horizon and VMware App Volumes was compared to that of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. In all three phases, VMware Horizon offered advantages over its competitor.

In the first phase of testing, PT compared the time and number of steps to deploy non-persistent virtual desktops using both solutions. The VMware Horizon VDI required 29.6 percent fewer steps and scaled virtual desktops faster than the Citrix solution. In the second phase of testing, VMware App Volumes required 14 major tasks to deliver an app to a virtual desktop and Citrix App Layering required 27 major tasks.
